The Marketing function of an organisation is no longer the brand custodian but in effect plays a dual role, one that of a customer’s advocate – committing on customer relevance and the other as a business catalyst – predictable sales forecasting. This evolution of this marketing role can be attributed to growing customers’ appetite to switch seamlessly among channels—from Web to mobile, from desktop to tablet in addition to a bouquet of web channels – social media, emails and mobility aps.
It is for these reasons that a strong sense of empathy should be built in devising your digital marketing strategy. The need to interact with your customer, observe their interactions and understand motivations is particularly important to understand their touch points and bring them back again and again.
